ZACKS QUANTITATIVE INVESTMENT STRATEGIES
Zacks Investment Research created the Zacks Rank, which is a special quantitative model based on trends in earnings estimate revisions and EPS surprises that classifies stocks into five groups, #1, #2, #3, #4, and #5 (#1 being the highest and #5 being the lowest). Since inception the Zacks Rank has proven to be a very reliable indicator to predict future movements in stock prices over a 1-3 month time horizon. How reliable has it been? Since 1988 the portfolio of Zacks #1 Ranked stocks have generated an average annual return of 33.6% vs. the S&P return of 11.3% during the same period. And between 2000 and 2002 Zacks #1 stocks averaged a +13.3% average annual return while the market faced one of the worst bear markets in history. Every night we recalculate these four factors for the universe of stocks covered by the brokerage analyst community (approx. 4000 stocks). The 4 measures are combined into a composite score, which is then used to assign a Zacks Rank.
If you are looking for a quantitative model that will provide proven money making investment ideas for your website visitors, and keep them coming back for more, the Zacks Rank model is the answer.
